All About Me

Hello,
My name is Kaitlin Brooks.
I have been interested in alternative healing modalities since beginning college. My whole life I struggled with digestive issues, allergies, allergy induced asthma, inflammation, and hormone imbalances. But it wasn't until college that I was diagnosed with Vitiligo. I was told by allopathic doctors that I was lucky and "had the best autoimmune disease because it only affects your skin color." I began my journey learning about healthy balanced eating when I struggled with my autoimmune issues silently but did not connect those symptoms with autoimmunity. I soon noticed the connection between my symptom flares and stress. This led me to stumble into my first yoga class.... I was immediately in awe of the new-found body awareness I gained and how it helped my stress levels. So...in the fall of 2017, I became an RYT 200.
My yoga training opened my eyes to the chakras, and subtle energy bodies which further led me down the path of Reiki and energy medicine. I also stumbled upon a great ND in Bismarck, around the same time, who told me how misguided it was that I was told I would have no symptoms from Vitiligo. She validated that everything I was struggling with was common in autoimmune diseases. She helped me heal my allergies with NAET and acupuncture. (Feel free to message me and I can give you her information! Or to learn more about NAET. ) However, I also realized she was the closest naturopathic doctor, and Bismarck is 3 1/2 hours away. I wished for some of those things to be closer and more accessible! And the seed was planted within me...
I became attuned to Usui Reiki in the spring of 2018. I am continuing my energy healing education and have also been attuned in Imara Reiki, PlantSpeak, the Golden Triangle healing, and Antojai Quantum Reiki. I intuitively use a combination of energy healing modalities when I work with clients.
I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine and science and spirituality with a whole body approach; all while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. And it is with that interest that I realized just how disconnected we are to our bodies in this day and age. When we are disconnected to our bodies, we are disconnected from life, Mother Earth, others, and the present moment in front of us. And this can affect our health negatively, especially when it comes to autoimmune diseases!
In the summer of 2019, I completed the 75-hour Embodied Healing Online Training with Embodied Philosophy. And from there, became a Realization Process Healing Ground Teacher. I wanted to find ways to further assist people in getting out of their heads and into their bodies. To be fully present and able to feel through emotions and constrictions and let them go.
I am always looking to integrate new treatments and therapies into my practice and believe that continued learning is important but so is living and breathing these practices and modalities into a way of life. This year I became an Auriculotherapy practitioner. I am currently completing the SOMA Breath Master Instructor + Breath Therapy training to round out my studies and experiences in how we hold on to emotions and traumas and how we handle stressful situations. Because we can't control the events around us, but we can control how we respond to them. So by creating situations that test us in a safe and healthy way, we can better adapt to what life throws at us and healthily build up our minds and bodies to handle that stress.
The global pandemic made me realize even more just how important this work truly is...and so, finally, I realized instead of sitting around wishing for access to alternative modalities to come here, I could bring them to people myself. So, Lotus Flower Alchemy was born! I decided to start offering my services online and plan to expand to in-person eventually. I would love everyone to be able to have access to these modalities because I have used them in my own healing journey directly. I want other people to be able to receive the same benefits I have, and more! It is my mission to offer modalities that have their own benefits, but also complement allopathic and naturopathic care. Because they CAN work together!
Eventually, I'll be adding some natural home and beauty products created by me, as herbalism is another passion of mine, so stay tuned!
(In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading (I'm a librarian by day), gardening, loom-knitting, brewing Kombucha, foraging, and making art! )
